We’re almost at that time when we pack up your summer essentials for good and look to a cooler season ahead. Before we know it, we’ll be bundling up in cozy blankets and getting out our colorful candles, sipping on everything pumpkin spiced! We’re predicting the decor trends that will be everywhere this fall and getting our interior design friends at Skout and We Three Design to share their thoughts on what will be this fall’s biggest trends.
Layers and Leather
“I am seeing lots of earth tones and warmer colors for the fall- and I love it”, says designer Ashley Clark. “Feels like a true fall with lots of textures and layers (our favorite), leather, velvets, and lots of florals are having a big moment! Everything you love about fall from cozy sweaters to fuzzy slippers and tall leather boots. We are seeing it all in furnishings and decor as well!”
Terracotta, Velvet, and Olive
Sam Salinas, Kirsten Grove and Nicole Powell from We Three Design also see earth tones trending and layers of texture. “Terracotta is one of those colors that can be used for every season, but shines in the fall time. Adding terracotta can immediately give your space that warm vibe. We are really into these Terracotta french linen sheets from Morrow Journal. “
For a little texture the team recommends adding olive tree stems. “We’re all about olive trees and stems for fall! It’s a classic look that makes any room look a little fancy and a little organic. We suggest displaying them in vintage ceramic vessels.”
Going along with Ashley’s trend alert, We Three Design believes velvet will be prominent. “Velvet is not dying. In fact it’s everything that the fall season needs! Warm, cozy, soft and perfect. Try finding velvet in deep jewel tones. Throw pillows are the perfect usage of velvet!”
