Tell us about Audrey Crisp Interiors. How did you get started?

I began a few years ago by starting my Instagram page. I would share on my personal account and felt it was time to start a page dedicated to Interiors. I’ve slowly built a following and it’s a full time job to keep up with it, but I love it!

What is your approach to putting together design boards? What are some of your favorite brands to work with?

I go by what my client requests, but try and always pick modern, neutral colored pieces, I’d put in my own home. I love to mix high and low end pieces. From Target to West Elm. I love Wayfair, because it has so much variety.

Where do you get your inspiration? What’s your design philosophy?

Most of my inspiration comes from Instagram and Pinterest. I like to mix styles! I almost always go for neutral colors. There’s no right or wrong! Do what feels/looks good to you!

What are some recent projects that have been particularly rewarding?

It’s fun to see my boards come to life. Right now I mostly just do e-design, and it’s fun to see the mood boards come to life. I recently have been helping a girl with her new construction home and it’s been fun to see it almost done!

What are your tips for making a house feel more like a home?

Buy pieces you really love and don’t buy from the same store! Sometimes less is more and I think you should declutter to make room for the new pieces. You can also sell your items in local online marketplaces to help pay for the new item!

For someone overwhelmed with starting a project, what piece of advice would you give them?

Make a an inspo board on Pinterest with spaces you love.  You can also save pics you love on Instagram and create categories to help organize them. Take your time! Hire a designer If you’re overwhelmed. Don’t second guess your choices or you’ll go crazy. Pillows and rugs are pretty easy to change out if you get sick of the ones you have!
